Job Description

Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist – Asphalt & Technical Campaigns

Primary Responsibilities:

The Technical Specialist will manage the sales/technical activities for Asphalt plants and other Technical Sales Bundles.

  • Managing multi-location customers; duties include, but not limited to, evaluate products sold, pricing, profitability, and technical service bundle standards.
    • Build program for each account; includes standardizing prices and service offering.
    • Improve program offering designed to grow revenue and increase profitability.
    • Focus on account retention and identifying additional selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Must possess the ability to drive sales and profits by evaluating the market, identifying and qualifying approved customer targets, managing sales funnel, developing and making customer presentations to key decision makers, and closing sales.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements.
  • Execute program rollout (includes pricing, equipment requirements, and service standards) to the local sales manager for rep assignment. Validate the program is being executed correctly by piloting regularly scheduled business reviews with customer’s senior leadership; i.e. ensure local reps meet expectations at the plant level.
  • Manage revenue and profits; provide corrective counter measures to address gaps between actual and Plan (Plan defined as; revenue and profit targets).

Requirements:

  • More than 3 years mechanical experience and a track record of closing Large Technical plants and servicing complex dilution equipment
  • A proven track record in demonstrating strong leadership and high growth revenue.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated success in communications with senior management team, employees, customers and
  • partners. Must be able to develop structured, logic-driven arguments and effectively defend proposed processes, programs, budgets, etc.

 

Compensation:

  • Base salary and 2.5% commission override on first 12 months sales. Commission will be paid monthly and will begin with month of opening order.

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) may include specialized or vocational courses.
  • Minimum three (3) years sales related industry experience and/or 2-3 years business to  business sales experience.
