Job Description: Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers, supervisors, skilled trades and operators to maintain, troubleshoot, debug, and repair equipment and gages to correct quality or machine reliability issues to improve OEE.
  • Develop/implement techniques to prevent or detect quality defects.
  • Continuously improve assembly costs and quality levels through process improvements, and cost saving activities.
  • Develop action plans and coordinate implementation of items to improve PPM performance, First Time Through (FTT), and scrap reduction.
  • Provide cost saving justification for process improvements required to obtain funding authorization.
  • Review and approve vendor controls and prints.
  • Familiar with programming and troubleshooting industrial controls, i.e. Allen Bradley, Siemens, GEFanuc, Mitsubishi based PLC’s and electrical/hydraulic servo systems.
  • Provide system support for plant data collection and traceability systems.
  • Provide IT support from production equipment level communications.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Education
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, electrical preferred
