CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift
Job Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications. This role ensures high-quality production, efficiency, and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, or grinders) according to job orders and blueprints.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work orders to ensure accuracy.
- Load materials, fixtures, and tools, and make adjustments to machines as needed for optimal performance.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Document production data, machine maintenance, and inspection results in logs or manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve processes and product quality.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure long-term functionality.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Familiarity with CNC programming or G-code is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
