CNC Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications. This role ensures high-quality production, efficiency, and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, or grinders) according to job orders and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and work orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Load materials, fixtures, and tools, and make adjustments to machines as needed for optimal performance.
  • Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Document production data, machine maintenance, and inspection results in logs or manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to improve processes and product quality.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure long-term functionality.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming or G-code is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
