Job Description
Overview:
This role provides legal support to our attorneys by conducting research, drafting documents, organizing case files, and assisting in trial preparation. You will play a vital role in ensuring legal processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents for attorney review, such as contracts, pleadings, motions, legal arguments and agreements.
- Organize and maintain case files, legal correspondence, and evidence.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and witness lists.
- File legal documents with courts and agencies as required.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information.
- Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures, rules, and deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field (preferred)
- Paralegal certification (preferred)
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, research methods, and court procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and document management software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with high efficiency.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to excel in a fast paced law firm, self-starter, in need of little supervision
- Prior experience in a personal injury law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency (preferred)
Work Environment:
- Law firm environment.
- May involve travel for client meetings, court proceedings, or document retrieval.
