Our client, Christian City is a Non-profit organization that provides an unique and comprehensive living community that provides a continuum of housing and support offerings for foster children, active seniors and assisted living residents backed by Christian values and the beliefs of the Christian faith. Christian City’s mission is to extend Christ’s call to love your neighbor through housing, health care and crisis intervention for children, families, and older adults.
To reach its aspirations, Christian City is seeking a seasoned executive who is deeply grounded and active in their faith who will bring a passion for the organization and its mission. The COO will expand Christian City’s reach as a community that is a nexus of faith, facility, and fellowship and will continue a tradition of spirituality, strong business acumen, organizational culture and a creative balance of mission and margin.
Key responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer include:
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement Christian City’s vision and goals in alignment with its 60-year mission and values. The COO will navigate complexity to move the organization forward.
- Deliver operational excellence, consistency, and efficiency in Christian City’s day-to-day operations, programs, and business functions.
- Continue to develop a strong and diverse team of professionals by building on Christian City’s culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
- Steward Christian City’s resources through close collaboration with the CFO and Chief Development Officer; develop and manage budgets and vendors; and identify opportunities to optimize costs and create innovative revenue generation.
- Engineer solutions for new challenges and opportunities; bring creative, flexible, entrepreneurial, innovative options that respond to the dynamic needs of the community.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, government agencies, corporate partners, foundations, and community organizations to drive program excellence, expansion, and impact.
- Maximize every opportunity to meet and exceed the needs of those Christian City serves through performance metrics and systems to drive achievement of objectives, provide clarity, and drive accountability, while ensuring quality through regular analysis.
- The COO will deliver operational excellence, consistency, and efficiency in Christian City’s day-to-day operations, programs, and business functions.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, and implement robust risk management practices.
- Champion Christian City’s culture of innovation by identifying and implementing new initiatives, technologies, and best practices to enhance program effectiveness and encourage replication.
- Be an ambassador and share the mission of Christian City through strong relationships with the broader community to raise awareness of, and to advocate for, the critical importance of integrating individuals with disabilities
Qualifications:
- Seven or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Previous experience managing large budgets and understanding of accounting principles
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
- Exceptional track record of leadership
- Superior project management skills
- Resourceful and analytical with exceptional communication skills
- Active demonstration of Christian faith
- Significant senior-level executive experience with profit and loss accountability
- Relevant experience with a strong track record of achievement in managing complex, dynamic and multi-faceted institutions
- Significant experience and ability in leading organizational planning around vision and strategy
- Experience with revenue generation and a sense of eagerness and creativity in finding ways to ensure the long-term sustainability of Christian City
- An understanding for the importance of tradition and how to balance it appropriately with progress
